Tara na, Byahe tayo!

Travelling has always been my dream (who doesn't) and now, I promised myself that I will go at least once a year to explore a new place. May it be within Indonesia or Philippines, Asia or other continents. I will go as far as my budget can reach (hehehe). Travelling is a special thing to me, not only because of the sights, but i go with special people whom I want to share the adventure that is life...

Tangkuban Perahu, Bandung

29 March 2009 - Tangkuban Perhau Day!!! Kak Mike drove me to this famous volcano and tourist spot in the outskirts of Bandung... Great cold weather.. nice views plus real FOG!!!! oh yes... fog and not the usual SMOG we see in the city.... The place tested my patience..waiting for the right timing to take photos as the fog got really really low... but the spectacular crater was worth the wait... careful with the pesky peddlers who will really bug you...just be persistent and say no.... of not, IGNORE!!!!

Jakarta

A quick cheat to Manila life in Indonesia. Yes...malls, traffic, food, fashion, cruelty, rudeness, bargain shopping, cafes, liberal life, oh yes.... rthe air I breathe in Manila is now only 2 hours plane ride from Medan. Say hello to Jakarta.  It is the capital of Indonesia and it is where we go for seminars most of the time.

I also had time going around the city when I'm there and here are some sights I got interested in - Kota Tua, Sunda Kelapa and of course, the Monas monument....

Bandung...

I never knew I'd fall in love again... with yet another city in Indonesia... hahahaha... Kidding aside, I think Bandung would be my next best loved city in Indonesia, first of which is Bali, of course. Bandung shouts FOOD and FASHION... 2 things i love!!! well shopping wasnt on top of my agenda as I looked forward more to the sights and life in another city in Indonesia. I had a very good time with my babies - suxi, miguel and harry, not excluding rafael of course...But yep... I think I did not only fell in love with the city... I think i fell for a person too... makasih ya kak mike for sharing the whole experience... loved every second of it...

Eastcoast, Singapore

I've been in and out of Singapore before when I was processing papers for my KITAS. I've gone through MRT rides just to get a glimpse of Singapore while I had the chance. What sets this trip in May 2007 apart from the times I visited Singapore was that I am actually going there for a HOLIDAY!!! It was my birthday gift to myself just 2 months after I went to Bali (geez the expenses that time was really tight). I got to go to Jurong Bird Park, see the sights at Sentosa, stroll along Orchard (and not be in a hurry to meet the agent in the Embassy, finally), ride a bus (i had to try it at least), shop at Bugis (without worrying about the time), see the parks, dinner out at Clark Quay, etc. But the place i loved the most was Eastcoast. Yep, the sand, the chicken wings, the bike ride, the lazy afternoon sitting there... haaaayyyyyy... wish there was a beach near my place now coz truly, it was so relieving!!!

BALI!!!!

One has not been to Indonesia without having been to Bali. Oh yes... the beach, the shopping, the art and thrill of bargaining, the braids, the henna tatooes, the temples, the culture and the sights... loved that!!!!  What's super special in this trip? 1. It was a dream of mine to get there.  2. It was the first major trip  I had with D.... 3. I went all the way with everything... food, shopping and the experience... first time riding Garuda hahahaha....

Brastagi

Don't get me wrong here... hehehehe. I've been to Brastagi a lot. The venue of this place isn't actually Brastagi yet but a town before it, still a part of Sibolangit if i'm not mistaken. What makes this memorable is that I rode going there on a motorcycle. Yep, it was a dream of mine to ride a motorcycle (Honda Tiger to be exact) going to the mountain.. :D i just loved the rush of wind on gushing on my face (helmet not closed :D)and the thrill of it... plus i was with this gang of bikers, thanks to Pak Aqsa.... Rowie, do you remember this?!?!?! and the after trip??? numb butts and face completed the whole experience... hahahaha

Laoag, 2008

After getting back from Bangui and on the way back to ride the bus back our Hotel in Vigan, D and I walked in the city of Laoag, passing through the Sinking Bell Tower and the City Hall.

Road to Bangui

It takes around an hour and a half bus ride from Laoag to Bangui, but worry not coz the road leading to the WIndmills of the North is interesting too... here are some of my shots from the moving bus...
